Update Your Profile and Password
Update your ZMorning profile and photo, verify a new sign-in email, change or set your password, and recover access if you forget it.
Where do I update my ZMorning account?
While signed in on the website, open Profile from the dashboard navigation. Use its Profile, Change Password, and Change Email tabs to maintain your own ZMorning account. If you cannot sign in, use Forgot password instead.

Update your profile details
-
Open Profile
Use the Profile tab for your name, address, and any employee invoice notes shown to you.
-
Enter first and last name
Profile requires both fields and combines them into the full name stored on the account.
-
Review address and invoice notes
Address accepts up to 500 characters. In the employee view, shown as Employee in ZMorning, invoice notes accept up to 1,000 characters and appear on invoices when available.
-
Select Save Changes
Wait for the success message before navigating away.
Change your profile photo
-
Select Change photo
Choose an image from the device you are using.
-
Use a supported file name
The upload accepts files ending in JPG, JPEG, PNG, or GIF.
-
Wait for the preview to update
After upload, Profile and the dashboard avatar use the new image. If no usable photo is available, ZMorning displays an initial-based placeholder.
Change your sign-in email
The new address must be different from the current address and must not already belong to another ZMorning account.
-
Open Change Email
Enter an address you can access, then select Send OTP.
-
Check the new inbox
ZMorning sends a five-digit verification code to the new address, not the current one.
-
Enter the code within 10 minutes
Use Verify & Update Email. The code locks after five incorrect attempts.
-
Confirm the updated address
After success, the verified address becomes the account email used for future web and desktop sign-ins.
- Request another code
- Wait at least 60 seconds after the previous request. A new request replaces the pending code.
- The code expires
- Request a new code from the Change Email tab.
- Five incorrect attempts
- The current code is locked. Request a new code before trying again.
- The address is already used
- Sign in to the existing account or choose another address; ZMorning does not merge accounts through this form.
Change or set your password from Profile
Existing password
Confirm the current password
Enter the current password, enter the new password twice, and select Update Password.
Google or LinkedIn sign-up
Set an email-sign-in password
If the account has no stored password, Profile does not ask for a current password. Setting one adds email-and-password sign-in.
- The new password and confirmation must match.
- The enforced minimum is six characters.
- Use a unique password longer than the six-character minimum.
- After success, ZMorning signs out the current web session and redirects to login.
- Use the new password for later website and desktop-app sign-ins.
Reset a forgotten password
Use this website flow when the current password is unavailable. The desktop app does not contain a separate Forgot password link.
-
Open Forgot password
From website login, select Forgot password or open the recovery page.
-
Enter the account email
Use the email currently stored on the ZMorning account and complete the verification check.
-
Open the reset email
Follow its reset link. If several requests were made, use the newest email because a new request replaces the earlier reset code.
-
Create the new password
Enter it twice, submit the form, then return to login. A successfully used reset link cannot be used again.
Protect account access
- Use a unique password that is not shared with another service.
- Do not send anyone your password, five-digit verification code, or password-reset link.
- Verify the address before entering credentials into a login or reset page.
- Change the password immediately if someone else may know it.
- Keep access to the account email because both verification and recovery depend on it.
- Contact support if the email or password changes unexpectedly.
Troubleshooting
- Save Changes says a name is required
- Enter both first and last name in Profile, then try again.
- The photo format is rejected
- Choose a file ending in JPG, JPEG, PNG, or GIF. If it is too large, resize or compress it first.
- The email code did not arrive
- Check spam and the spelling of the new address. Wait at least 60 seconds before requesting another code.
- The email code expired or locked
- Request a new code. The earlier code will no longer be the pending code.
- The current password is rejected
- Check the password carefully. If it is unavailable, sign out and use Forgot password on the website.
- The reset email did not arrive
- Check spam and confirm that the submitted address belongs to a ZMorning account. Request a new link and use only the newest email.
- The old email no longer signs in
- After a verified email change, use the new email address for future sign-ins.
Frequently asked questions
Is Profile different in the manager and employee views?
No. Profile maintains the signed-in person's ZMorning account. The same name, email, photo, and password can apply across the manager view, shown as Client in ZMorning, the employee view, shown as Employee in ZMorning, and multiple employer relationships.
Which profile-photo formats can I upload?
Profile accepts files ending in JPG, JPEG, PNG, or GIF. If the request is rejected as too large, resize or compress the image before trying again.
Where is the email verification code sent?
It is sent to the new email address. The code contains five digits, expires after 10 minutes, and locks after five incorrect attempts. Wait at least 60 seconds before requesting another code.
Can I change my email to one already used by another account?
No. The new address must not already belong to another ZMorning business or sign-in account. The Change Email form does not merge accounts.
Can a Google or LinkedIn user create a password?
Yes. When no password is stored for the account, the Change Password tab lets the user set one without entering a current password. This adds email-and-password sign-in.
Why was I signed out after changing my password?
This is expected. A successful authenticated password change signs out the current web session and clears its ZMorning context. Log in again with the account email and new password.
Can I reset my password from the desktop app?
The desktop app does not provide its own Forgot password link. Use the ZMorning website recovery page, set the new password, and then return to the desktop app. If several links were requested, use the newest email.
