Plans & Integrations
Connect Dropbox or Google Drive
Connect Dropbox or Google Drive to an employer account, verify the connected account, and activate it separately for future screenshot uploads.
How do I connect Dropbox or Google Drive?
In the manager view, shown as Client in ZMorning, open Integrations. Choose Connect on Dropbox or Google Drive, authorize the intended provider account, and return to ZMorning. Confirm that the provider card says Connected and shows the expected account email.

Connect the employer's provider
The Integrations interface presents Dropbox and Google Drive connections as Pro features. The connection belongs to the selected employer account, not to an employee's personal ZMorning settings.

Use the employer's configured routing
Employees cannot connect or disconnect the employer's provider. Desktop screenshot uploads follow the selected employer's active tracking and storage configuration.
Prepare the provider account
Choose the account deliberately before starting authorization. The provider account becomes a separate location for workplace screenshots.
- Confirm that the organization permits workplace screenshots in that provider account.
- Prefer an organization-controlled account over an individual's personal storage account.
- Decide who can access the provider folders and who is responsible for retention and deletion.
- Check that the provider account has sufficient storage and is not restricted by an administrator.
- Sign out of unrelated provider accounts or verify the account shown on the consent screen.
- Explain the storage change to affected employees before enabling screenshot routing.
Connect Dropbox
-
Open Integrations
In the manager view, shown as Client in ZMorning, find the Dropbox screenshot storage card.
-
Select Connect
ZMorning creates a one-time authorization state and sends the browser to Dropbox.
-
Choose and authorize the account
Verify the Dropbox account, review the requested access, and approve only if it is the intended storage owner.
-
Return to ZMorning
ZMorning exchanges the authorization code for offline access, reads the account email, and stores the connection under the employer account.
-
Verify the provider card
Confirm that Dropbox says Connected and that the displayed account email is correct before activating screenshot routing.
Connect Google Drive
-
Open Integrations
In the manager view, shown as Client in ZMorning, find the Google Drive screenshot storage card.
-
Select Connect
ZMorning creates a one-time authorization state and opens Google's consent flow.
-
Choose and authorize the Google account
Verify the account and review the requested access. ZMorning requests permission for files created through the integration and permission to read the connected account email.
-
Return to ZMorning
ZMorning stores the connection and the account identity needed to refresh access and organize future uploads.
-
Verify the provider card
Confirm that Google Drive says Connected and displays the intended account email.
Understand the folder structure
When external routing is later enabled and an upload succeeds, ZMorning organizes screenshots using this hierarchy:
A PNG screenshot file is placed inside the employee folder for the capture month.
The folder name can expose an employee's email address to everyone who has access to that provider location.
Activate screenshot storage separately
After the provider card shows Connected, open Today in the manager view, shown as Client in ZMorning. Under Screenshot storage, turn on Save screenshots to Dropbox or Save screenshots to Google Drive.
- Connection only
- The provider is authorized, but future screenshots still use default storage until its Today switch is enabled.
- Provider enabled
- New screenshot uploads attempt the selected provider. Earlier screenshots are not moved.
- Another provider enabled
- Enabling Dropbox turns off Google Drive routing, and enabling Google Drive turns off Dropbox routing.
- Provider upload fails
- ZMorning uses its default storage for that screenshot instead of discarding the capture.
Disconnect a provider
-
Review retained provider files
Decide whether existing screenshots should remain in Dropbox or Google Drive or be removed there first.
-
Open Integrations
Find the connected provider under the intended employer account.
-
Select Disconnect
ZMorning marks the connection inactive, turns off screenshot routing, clears its displayed account identity, and attempts to revoke provider access.
-
Confirm the card state
The provider should show Not connected. Future screenshots use default storage unless another connected provider is active.
Troubleshooting
- Connect opens an upgrade message
- The Integrations interface presents provider connections as a Pro feature. Confirm that Pro is active for the intended employer account.
- The provider authorized the wrong account
- Return to Integrations, disconnect it, sign in to the intended provider account, and connect again. Verify the email displayed afterward.
- The provider consent flow was cancelled
- No active connection is created. Return to Integrations and start Connect again when ready.
- The callback says Invalid state
- The one-time authorization state does not match the current ZMorning session. Return to Integrations in the same browser session and restart the connection.
- The card is connected, but no storage switch appears
- Open Today in the manager view, shown as Client in ZMorning, and confirm active Pro access. The switches are hidden from the employee view, shown as Employee in ZMorning, and when Pro is unavailable.
- A previously connected card is inactive
- The connection may have been disconnected, revoked, or lost the refresh access required for uploads. Connect the provider again and verify its email.
- A new screenshot is missing from the provider
- Connecting alone does not enable routing. If routing was enabled, a provider or token failure can cause that upload to fall back to default storage.
Frequently asked questions
Does connecting Dropbox or Google Drive immediately send screenshots there?
No. Connecting authorizes the provider. Open Today in the manager view, shown as Client in ZMorning, and separately enable that provider under Screenshot storage.
Can an employee connect the employer's storage provider?
No. The employee view, shown as Employee in ZMorning, cannot connect or disconnect the employer's provider. Employees use the storage configuration selected by that employer.
Can Dropbox and Google Drive both receive new screenshots at the same time?
No. Both accounts can be connected, but only one provider can be enabled for screenshot routing at a time. Enabling one turns off the other.
How are screenshots organized in the connected provider?
Successful provider uploads are organized under a zmorning.com root folder, then an MM-YYYY capture-month folder, then a folder named with the tracked employee's email address.
What happens if a provider upload fails?
ZMorning falls back to its default storage for that screenshot. If the provider no longer has usable refresh access, ZMorning also disables the connection and routing choice.
Does disconnecting delete screenshots already stored externally?
No. Disconnecting marks the connection inactive, turns off routing, and attempts to revoke access. Existing Dropbox or Google Drive files must be retained or deleted through the provider's own controls.
Why should I verify the connected account email?
It confirms which provider account owns the new screenshot location. Verify it before activation so workplace screenshots are not routed to the wrong personal or organization account.
