Sign In to the Desktop App

Sign in with an employee account, load its linked employers, and resolve common desktop login problems.

How do I sign in to the ZMorning desktop app?

Open the installed ZMorning app, enter the email address and password for your employee account, and select Login. Your first sign-in needs an internet connection. When the account is verified, the app loads the employers connected to that employee account and opens the tracker.

Before you sign in

The desktop app is the employee tracker. Make sure the account is ready before entering its credentials.

  • Install the current ZMorning desktop app for your operating system.
  • Use the email address your employer added as an employee.
  • Complete the account invitation and create a password if this is a new employee account.
  • Connect to the internet for the first sign-in and employer lookup.

Sign in from Employee Login

  1. 1

    Open ZMorning

Launch the desktop app. When there is no usable saved session, the Employee Login screen appears.

  2. 2

    Enter the employee email address

Use the email address connected to the employee account. Email matching is not case-sensitive.

  3. 3

    Enter the password

Enter the current password for that ZMorning account. The desktop form does not include a password-reset link.

  4. 4

    Select Login

ZMorning verifies that the account exists, has employee access, and has the correct password. A successful response opens the tracker; an unsuccessful response appears below the form.

What happens after a successful sign-in

Authentication and work selection are separate steps. Signing in identifies the employee; the employer and task identify where the next tracked session belongs.

1 Employee account

The app verifies the email address, password, and employee access.

2 Linked employers

The service returns the employers currently connected to that employee.

3 Default employer

The saved default is used when it is still available; otherwise the first linked employer is selected.

4 Tracker data

The app can load that employer's assigned tasks, settings, and recent work log.

Return to the app without signing in again

After a successful login, ZMorning saves a session on that computer. On later launches, the app tries to restore and refresh the session and reload the current employer list. It does not refill the login form with the password you typed.

Session remains usable

The tracker opens

The app restores the employee session and refreshes its account and employer information when the service is available.

Session cannot be restored

Employee Login appears

Enter the current credentials again if the saved session is missing, expired, revoked, or no longer usable.

Sign out on a shared or reassigned computer

Use Logout in the desktop app when another person will use the computer or when you need to change accounts. Logout stops the local tracking state, revokes the saved desktop session when the service is reachable, removes the saved session from the computer, and returns to Employee Login.

Troubleshoot sign-in problems

Invalid input. Please provide email and password.
Complete both fields, then select Login again.
Employee account not found.
Check the email address first. This message also appears when the account exists but does not have employee access. Ask the employer to add that email address as an employee.
Invalid password.
Re-enter the password. If it is no longer known, open the website's Forgot password page and request a reset for the same email address.
An error occurred during login.
Check the internet connection and try again. If the problem continues, the service may be unavailable or the request may have timed out.
The tracker opens without an employer
Ask the employer to confirm that the employee relationship is active. Then use Logout and sign in again to reload the employer list.
The expected tasks are missing
Sign-in is complete. Confirm the selected employer, then continue to the task guide and refresh the assigned task list.

If sign-in still fails, contact support with the operating system, app version, email address, and exact message shown. Never include the password.
