Add and Remove Manual Time

Add missing work as ten-minute manual time slots, understand rounding and overlap rules, and remove your own manual records safely.

What does Add manual time do?

It fills a genuine gap by creating one manual record without task or project attribution for every ten-minute slot in the rounded time range. Manual slots count toward overall time and billing-related totals, but they contain no automatic keyboard or mouse activity, no captured screenshot, and no task or project assignment.

Use manual time for a real missing record

Appropriate use

Fill a verified tracking gap

  • The timer was not started for work that was actually completed.
  • A connection or app problem prevented the expected time from arriving.
  • A known missing period needs to be represented in overall hours and billing.

Avoid

Do not duplicate or estimate carelessly

  • Do not add time that already appears as an automatic or manual slot.
  • Do not use it to attach an earlier manual period to a task.
  • Do not add future or unverified work merely to reach a target total.

  • Cannot edit or remove another employee's records.

Add a manual time range

  1. 1

    Open Today

In the web dashboard, select Today.

  2. 2

Confirm the employee and visible date

In the manager view, shown as Client in ZMorning, choose the correct employee. Review existing slots for the day so the missing range is clear.

  3. 3

    Select Add manual time

The modal initially copies the date currently selected on Today.

  4. 4

Enter the date and time range

Choose the Date, Start Time, and End Time. The entered duration must be at least ten minutes, and the end must be later than the start.

  5. 5

    Review the ten-minute boundaries

Expect the start to round down and the end to round up. Confirm that none of the resulting slots already exists.

  6. 6

    Select Save Time

After the success message, review the intended date on Today. Each created interval appears as a separate slot with a Manually Added badge.

Understand ten-minute rounding

ZMorning floors the start to the previous ten-minute boundary and ceilings the end to the next boundary.

Entered

9:00–9:10

Already aligned. ZMorning creates one slot: 9:00–9:10.

Entered

9:03–9:14

Rounds to 9:00–9:20. ZMorning creates two ten-minute slots.

Entered

9:08–9:18

Rounds to 9:00–9:20. The entered ten minutes become two stored slots.

  2. Open Today and select the date containing the manual record.
  3. Find the card marked Manually Added.

  5. Review the permanent-deletion message and confirm only if the entire slot should be removed.
  6. Repeat for each additional slot from the original saved range.

Troubleshoot manual time

Duration too short
The entered start-to-end duration is under ten minutes. Rounding does not bypass this minimum.
End time must be after start time
Choose a later end on the same date. For overnight work, create one entry before midnight and another on the next date.
Manual time overlaps with existing tracked time
Review the rounded boundaries. Shorten or move the range so none of its ten-minute slots already exists.
The saved time is not visible
Confirm the employee and select the date entered in the modal. If the modal date differed from the page, Today remains on its original date.
The manual range is longer than expected
The start rounded down and the end rounded up. Count the resulting ten-minute slots before relying on the total.
I cannot find Delete in the manager view, shown as Client in ZMorning
This matches the current interface. Slot deletion is available only to the employee for their own records.
