Plans & Integrations
Manage Screenshot Storage
Choose default storage, Dropbox, or Google Drive for future ZMorning screenshots, switch providers, understand fallback, and delete files correctly.
How do I choose where new screenshots are stored?
In the manager view, shown as Client in ZMorning, open Today. Under Screenshot storage, turn on Save screenshots to Dropbox or Save screenshots to Google Drive. The provider must already be connected, and only one connected provider can be active at a time.
Check the requirements
ProManager view, shown as Client in ZMorning
Choose the employer's storage
The controls appear on Today when Pro is active and at least one supported provider is connected for that employer account.
Employee view, shown as Employee in ZMorning
Follow the employer's setting
Employees do not choose this storage. Desktop uploads use the setting for the employer selected in the desktop app.
- Confirm that the intended employer account has active Pro access.
- Connect Dropbox or Google Drive from Integrations before looking for its Today switch.
- Verify the provider account email so screenshots are not sent to the wrong account.
- Review the provider's permissions, available storage, access rules, and retention policy.
Enable Dropbox or Google Drive
Open Today as the manager
Use the manager view, shown as Client in ZMorning, under the employer whose storage you intend to change.
Find Screenshot storage
The controls appear when Pro is active and a supported provider is connected.
Turn on the intended provider
Enable Save screenshots to Dropbox or Save screenshots to Google Drive.
Confirm the success message
ZMorning saves the choice and turns off the other provider if it was active.
Check a future capture
After new tracked activity arrives, verify the expected provider folder and account. An older screenshot cannot test the new setting.
Switch providers or return to default storage
- Switch to the other connected provider
- Turn on its Today switch. ZMorning turns off routing to the previously active provider.
- Stop using provider storage
- Turn off the active switch. Future screenshots use ZMorning's default storage.
- Keep both accounts connected
- Both may remain connected, but only one can receive new screenshot uploads at a time.
- Change the connected account
- Disconnect it in Integrations, connect the intended account, verify its email, and enable it again on Today.
Understand what happens to existing screenshots
Storage routing is decided for each upload. Changing the setting does not rewrite earlier records or transfer their files.
Default storage record
Today can load the screenshot preview
A successful default-storage upload keeps that reference even when a provider is enabled later.
Provider storage record
Today shows a provider placeholder
For screenshots recorded in Dropbox or Google Drive, Today identifies the provider instead of showing the normal inline image preview.
Understand fallback behavior
ZMorning attempts the active provider for each new screenshot. A provider problem does not automatically discard the capture.
- The provider upload succeeds
- The record points to the file created in the active Dropbox or Google Drive account.
- The provider upload fails
- ZMorning attempts default storage for that screenshot. Later uploads can try the provider again while routing remains active.
- The provider has no usable refresh access
- ZMorning marks the connection inactive, turns off its routing, and uses default storage for the upload.
- No provider is active
- New screenshots use default storage.
Handle Pro expiry and provider disconnection
- Pro access expires
- When Today loads without active Pro access, ZMorning turns off external routing. Future uploads use default storage.
- A provider is disconnected
- ZMorning marks it inactive, turns off routing, clears its displayed account details, and attempts to revoke access.
- Access is revoked outside ZMorning
- A later upload may fall back to default storage, and the provider may need to be connected again.
- Pro is restored
- Review the connection and enable the intended provider again on Today. Do not assume the earlier choice was restored.
None of these changes moves or deletes screenshots that already exist in Dropbox or Google Drive.
Delete screenshots from the correct location
Deleting a screenshot or its time slot in ZMorning removes the activity record. For default storage, the deletion flow also removes its file. For a Dropbox or Google Drive record, the external file is not deleted by that ZMorning action.
Identify the original location
Use the provider placeholder on Today and expected provider folder to distinguish external files from default-storage screenshots.
Remove the ZMorning record when appropriate
Follow the normal screenshot or time-slot deletion workflow and account for its tracked-time impact.
Remove the external file separately
If policy requires deletion, use Dropbox or Google Drive controls to delete the retained file.
Apply the provider's retention process
Review trash, recovery, legal-hold, backup, and organization-admin rules that may continue to retain it.
Troubleshooting
- Screenshot storage does not appear on Today
- Use the manager view, shown as Client in ZMorning, confirm active Pro access, and connect Dropbox or Google Drive for the intended employer.
- The connected provider receives no screenshots
- Connecting alone is not enough. Enable that provider under Screenshot storage on Today.
- Turning on one provider turned off the other
- This is expected. Only one connected provider can be active at a time.
- An older screenshot did not move after switching
- This is expected. Routing changes apply only to future uploads.
- A provider-backed screenshot has no normal preview
- Today uses a provider placeholder for externally stored records. Review the file in the connected account.
- The active provider became disconnected
- Return to Integrations, reconnect the intended account, verify its email, and enable it again on Today.
- A deleted record's provider file still exists
- Delete it in Dropbox or Google Drive and follow the provider's retention controls.
Frequently asked questions
Who can choose the employer's screenshot storage?
The controls are available on Today in the manager view, shown as Client in ZMorning, when Pro is active and at least one supported provider is connected. They are not shown in the employee view, shown as Employee in ZMorning.
Can Dropbox and Google Drive receive new screenshots at the same time?
No. Both accounts can remain connected, but only one can be enabled for new screenshot uploads. Enabling one turns off the other.
Does switching storage move existing screenshots?
No. The choice applies only to future uploads. Earlier screenshots remain in the storage location used when each upload succeeded.
What happens when an active provider upload fails?
ZMorning attempts default storage for that screenshot instead of discarding the capture. If the provider has no usable refresh access, ZMorning also marks the connection inactive and turns off its routing setting.
What happens to provider routing when Pro expires?
When Today loads without active Pro access, ZMorning turns off external screenshot routing. Future screenshots use default storage. Review and enable the intended provider again after Pro is restored.
Does deleting activity in ZMorning delete a Dropbox or Google Drive file?
No. ZMorning removes its activity record, but its deletion flow does not delete the externally stored file. Delete that file separately in Dropbox or Google Drive when required.
Does disconnecting a provider delete screenshots already stored there?
No. Disconnecting turns off routing and attempts to revoke ZMorning's access. Existing files remain subject to the provider's own access, deletion, recovery, and retention controls.
