Understand Time and Activity Reports
Interpret ZMorning tracked time, Productivity, project trends, task status, employee comparisons, and billing summaries accurately in Overview.
What does Overview tell you?
Overview summarizes stored time slots, employee contract capacity, hourly rates, projects, and task records. Use it to compare totals and trends across the active scope. It does not report keyboard hits, mouse clicks, screenshots, or the exact contents of a work session.
Know what Overview reports
Manager view, shown as Client in ZMorning
Review a team or one linked employee
The headline billing card is named Total Bill. The manager can select all linked employees or one employee, compare employee rows, and open eligible employee profiles from the table.

Review your own records
The headline billing card is named Total Earnings. Results are restricted to the signed-in employee under the selected employer, and there is no team employee selector.
Read the four headline figures
- Total Bill or Total Earnings
- The monetary value of eligible tracked duration in the selected date and employee scope, calculated with applicable hourly-rate history.
- Total Working Hours
- Ten minutes for each stored slot in the selected date and employee scope. Automatically tracked and manually added slots contribute.
- Avg. Productivity
- The average of the visible employees' individual tracked-time-versus-contract percentages.
- Tasks Completed
- The number of current task records marked completed inside the active employee and project scope. The date range does not limit this count.
Understand the Productivity percentage
For each visible employee, ZMorning divides tracked slot minutes by the contract capacity represented by the selected period. Contract capacity uses the employee's weekly contract hours and the number of selected days, expressed as a fraction of a seven-day week.
Every stored ten-minute slot contributes, including manual time and slots with no keyboard or mouse activity.
The saved weekly contract hours are multiplied by the selected period's number of weeks.
Avg. Productivity averages the visible employee percentages rather than dividing one combined team total.
- An employee with missing or zero weekly contract hours receives 0%.
- An employee who tracks more than the scaled contract capacity can exceed 100%.
- Keyboard hits, mouse clicks, screenshots, task completion, and work quality do not enter the calculation.
- Changing weekly contract hours can change the percentage without changing tracked time.
Read Working Hours Distribution
The chart groups stored slots by date and by the project connected through each slot's task. Each plotted slot contributes ten minutes. It is useful for seeing when tracked project work occurred, not for reading exact start and stop seconds.
Named project series
The slot had project context
The selected task belongs to that project, so the slot contributes to the project's line on its recorded date.
Unassigned series
No project could be resolved
Manual time without task attribution and time whose task has no project appear as Unassigned rather than being added to a named project.
Interpret Task Completion
The donut chart and its Completed and Pending figures count current task records by status. A task moves between the two groups when it is completed or reopened.
Date selection
Does not limit tasks
The count is not based on a task completion date or the date when time was tracked.
Employee selection
Limits by assignment
When one employee is selected, the chart includes tasks assigned to that employee.
Project selection
Limits by project
When one project is selected, the chart includes that project's current tasks.
Use the Employee Productivity table
- Employee
- The linked employee. In the manager view, shown as Client in ZMorning, the name links to the detailed employee profile when that Pro feature is available.
- Department
- The employer-specific value saved as Designation in the employee edit form.
- Hours Worked
- The employee's stored slot time in the selected dates. A project selection does not currently limit this value.
- Tasks Completed
- Completed tasks assigned to that employee inside the current project scope. The date range does not limit the count.
- Productivity
- The employee's tracked-time-versus-contract percentage for the selected dates, across projects.
Interpret Total Bill or Total Earnings
ZMorning values tracked duration using the hourly rate that applies to each employee and period. Earlier rate history is retained, so a later rate change does not simply reprice all earlier tracked work at the new rate.
- Each eligible stored slot contributes its represented duration.
- A missing or zero hourly rate contributes time but no monetary amount.
- Weekly contract hours do not create, cap, or price tracked time.
- The selected project does not currently limit the headline billing amount.

Common questions
Is Overview Productivity calculated from keyboard or mouse activity?
No. Productivity compares stored ten-minute slot time with the employee's weekly contract capacity over the selected period. Keyboard hits, mouse clicks, and screenshots do not enter the calculation.
Can Productivity be higher than 100%?
Yes. An employee can exceed 100% when tracked slot time is greater than the contract capacity represented by the selected date range.
Why did changing the date range not change Tasks Completed?
Overview counts current completed and pending task records. Its date range limits tracked-time data but does not filter tasks by completion date or tracking date.
Why does Working Hours Distribution show Unassigned?
Unassigned contains slots that ZMorning cannot connect to a named project, including manual time without task attribution and time linked to a task without a project.
Why is there no currency symbol on Total Bill or Total Earnings?
The selected employees use more than one currency symbol. ZMorning does not perform exchange-rate conversion; it shows a mixed-currency message instead of presenting the numeric sum under one currency.
Where can I see screenshots and minute activity?
Open Today and select the employee and work date. Overview provides summaries and does not display screenshots, keyboard-hit counts, mouse-click counts, or individual ten-minute slot details.
